Ding Dong, the Book is Done!

After over a year and a half in development and a good 6 months writing it, I sent off the introduction to Speaking In Styles yesterday afternoon. I am now done with the writing. There are still a few more tasks to perform—especially since I decided to lay the damn thing out myself—but the long nights are over, and I got more than 5 hours of sleep last night for the first time in weeks.

Nancy P. is now asking for the final page count, and it’s looking to come in at about 360 pages of pure CSS knowledge.

The publication is set for later this month.

I’m Headed to Voices That Matter

Voices That Matter: Web Design 2009

Voices That Matter: Web Design 2009

The Voices that Matter Web Design conference is moving this year from Nashville, TN to San Francisco, CA. From April 27th through the 30th, you will be able to learn from some of the best minds in the industry, including me and mine (OK, I’m  really trying not to sound egotistical, but it’s hard when they call the conference “Voices that Matter”)!

I’ll be presenting two sessions with very differnt focuses:

In The Trusted Filter: Designing for Credibility I will be exploring what it means to create trust through the thoughtful application of design. This is part of a larger issue that I’m exploring (hopefully in book form soon), which is how online communication will shape the way we interact with each other. But more on that later…

I’ve also updated my Web typography lecture: Many Types, Many Faces: Web Typography Beyond Times, Arial, and Georgia. It has been a real crowd pleaser in the past, and I’m looking forward to adding to it for this year.

If you are planning on going to the conference, you can save $200 if you register before March 12th, and save another $200 if you use the discount code WBASPKR for a total of $400 off on a ticket (super cheap!).
